Every Year we build several different scenes out of the pink insulation you put on the side of houses. The best is minimum of 1 inch thick, for block walls take a router and make a groove for the blocks, horizontal & vertical, stager the blocks like usual, then paint them black for the morter grooves, grey for the blocks. We use 2 different colors of grey primer, light and dark primer. If you'd like I can send you pictures of this last halloween.
